Combining Co-codamol with Sleep or Cold Remedies
Co-codamol contains paracetamol and codeine, and because codeine is an opioid-based pain reliever, combining it with certain sleep aids or cold remedies may increase drowsiness and slow the nervous system more than expected. Many over-the-counter products for coughs, colds or flu already contain paracetamol or sedating ingredients, so using them alongside Co-codamol may raise the risk of taking more paracetamol than recommended or experiencing stronger side effects such as dizziness, breathing difficulty or excessive drowsiness.
